Mixed-case domains are a problem for Cherokee webserver

I’ve just been testing the “responsiveness” of this design on my phone but instead of fueling the smug sense of satisfaction in the buzzword peddlers, I immediately hit a rather odd problem. You see, I use Swype typing on my phone and drawing out the URL to my new site yields something like:

Apparently, this is not supposed to happen and “modern” browsers are supposed to lowercase the requests before they go. This isn’t a problem for Apache HTTPd it would seem, but Cherokee Webserver shrugs its shoulders and sends out the default post-install page because it can’t match “AdrianHardy.Co.uk” against “adrianhardy.co.uk”. I’ve since fixed it, but I needed to read the docs on host matching first.

Another very small nail in Cherokee’s coffin for me.
